Lymphedema is a condition where excess amound of fluid called lymph, starts accumulating in body tissues. Normally the lymph circulates in the body to rid the body from toxins; however, when the lymph nodes, which are glands for clearing the lymph, become damaged due to a disease such as cancer, the lymph nodes are then no longer able to drain lymph from arms and legs. Thus, the lymph starts accumulating in the arms and legs ultimately, causing ristriction for bodily movements and decrease range of motion; Furthermore, special pieces of clothings called compression sleeves or compression garments and stockings, are worn around the arms and legs, which tightly fit around the skin to help in draining out the lymph from the accumulation site!
