๐๐จ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ซ Your arm is kept in your shoulder socket by your rotator cuff. The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles that come together as tendons to form a covering around the head of the humerus. They attach from the humerus to the shoulder blade and help lift, rotate, and move your arm. ๐ฆด In most rotator cuff tears, the tendon is torn away from the bone. Most tears occur in the supraspinatus tendon, but other parts of the rotator cuff may also be involved. In many cases, torn tendons begin by fraying. As the damage progresses, the tendon can completely tear. There are different types of tears: โ๏ธPartial tear. This type of tear is also called an incomplete tear. It damages the tendon, but does not completely sever it. โ๏ธ Full-thickness tear. This type of tear is also called a complete tear. It separates the tendon from the bone. ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ฉโโ๏ธWhether you injured your shoulder working out, lifting heavy objects, repetitive motions, a fall, or other activity, itโs always important to have it evaluated. ๐ Common symptoms (but not all) to watch for are: โ๏ธPain at rest and at night, particularly if lying on the affected shoulder โ๏ธPain when lifting and lowering your arm or with specific movements โ๏ธWeakness when lifting or rotating your arm โ๏ธCrepitus or crackling sensation when moving your shoulder in certain positions Dr Ayaz Physiotherapy weight loss hair and skin clinic For appointment call 8080292950
